Looke
Michael Fürstberger, also known as ‘Looke’, connects electro, and electro-acoustic ideas in a unique live experience. Central to his performance is a sound, a synthesiser, a voice, or a motive. In this field of experimentation, worlds of sound are created which combine various musical concepts. In this way the artist creates soundscapes between techno and house music.
His relationship with varied musical styles derives from a long musical history. From an international acclaimed boys-choir, to various hip-hop, drum’n bass and house projects, furthermore studies in Vocal Jazz and Pop Performance at the Conservatory for Music and Theatre in Leipzig: Michael always lived through music and uses this rich foundation with ‘Looke’ in order to create new soundscapes.
Not only in his music does Michael test boundaries. In addition to his collaboration with the Goethe Institut, he displayed his musical ideas through tours of North America, South America, Russia, Asia and in greater Europe.
From driving house lines to flickering ambient-like surfaces: the most important principle for ‘Looke’ is to define the present moment and to pull the public into the unique live character of every performance. This quality made Michael the perfect candidate opening for artists such as Deichkind, Monika Kruse, Toni Rios, Pascal Feos, Tobi Neumann, Oliver Koletzki and many more.
After a collaboration with the Berlin-based duo ‘Lemmon’ (EP ‘Mystical’), ‘Looke’ releases his first own EP ’What else’ (including remixes by ‘Oliver Schories, ‘Mark See’ and ‘Lemmon’) on the ‘Cosmic Society’ label in September 2018
